**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The mission of the Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG) is to provide the safe, fit for purpose health facilities, sites and equipment that are essential for a well-functioning health system. The IIG leads investment by understanding and managing these well, ensuring health facilities, sites, and equipment with the highest need of investment are prioritised and standardising the way these are maintained, refurbished or redeveloped.

Health infrastructure is a critical enabler of our system and requires substantial Crown investment. Underpinning the $22 billion annual government expenditure on health services, health infrastructure is a critical enabler of equitable, efficient, high-quality services, supporting patient and workforce experience and a major driver of overall system sustainability.

The IIG is about to see a step change in health care infrastructure investment, as a result of the need to update and renovate old and outdated hospitals, respond to the demands of a growing and ageing population and in response to Government commitments to significant redevelopments in priority regions.

In this context, the primary purpose of the role is to establish a National Delivery Support Office to grow and develop infrastructure project and programme delivery capability including project and programme governance capability and provide intensive support to projects at risk.

**Mōu | About you**

You will establish a multi-disciplinary team to support major project delivery, and lead the development and implementation of a project delivery framework that enables an efficient, innovative and collaborative approach to construction management across New Zealand.

You will be adept at navigating government policy, political expectations, public interest and organisational/project governance to deliver complex projects.
