Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
The Ministry for Primary Industries' Procurement and Commercial Management team is a recognised leader within Government. We have an exciting opportunity for two experienced Commercial Contract Managers to join our team. You will help us ensure MPI has effective commercial management in place for a diverse range of contracts/suppliers that are strategically important to the delivery of MPI's objectives. You'll be responsible for:

- monitoring and managing a portfolio of contracts/suppliers to ensure contract obligations are met and successful outcomes are achieved
- act as a trusted advisor providing expert commercial advice in relation to contract/supplier performance, risks and issues
- developing and maintaining effective and collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- actively contributing to business improvements and innovations, streamlining business processes in relation to contracts, reducing costs and enabling efficiencies
- leading and managing formal contract and supplier reviews

Mōu - About You

**To be successful, you'll have**:

- substantial experience managing complex commercial supplier relationships
- proven ability to build successful and credible relationships with a range of business partners and stakeholders at all levels
- proven track record for uplifting organisational performance through enhanced commercial and financial management practices
- proven skills in commercial contract negotiation
- advanced written and oral communication and presentation skills including the ability to communicate technical information to diverse individuals and groups.
