**Tenei turanga - About the Role**:
The Collaborative Procurement team in the NZ Government Procurement branch manages a broad portfolio of framework agreements, which deliver common goods and services to government agencies.
While we live and breathe procurement, our focus is outwards, supporting those doing the mahi in the government procurement system i.e. agencies and suppliers. We are less a procurement shop than a 'system-enabler', leveraging multi-disciplinary expertise across the branch in areas such as data analytics, sourcing, category management, marketing, and policy to maximise the public value of government collaborative procurement.
We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled commercial operator/procurement professional to fill a vacancy in our Supplier Relationship Management cohort.
Reporting into the AoG Professional Services Portfolio Manager, the Supplier Relationship Manager AoG will:
- design, implement and lead a best-in-class supplier relationship management programme to optimise contract performance, service delivery and outcomes;
- build productive, partnering relationships with AoG and government strategic suppliers;
- provide expertise and on-the-ground support to manage supplier performance, expectations, standards and risk; and

- A strong track-record of category management or similar commercial experience within government or the private sector
- Proven ability to analyse complex commercial and procurement situations.
- A history of proactive stakeholder engagement across the procurement lifecycle, developing partnerships that deliver good commercial outcomes and maximise value.
- Broad experience at influencing and negotiating with senior decision makers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills: demonstrates credibility, expectation-management and persuasion.
- Experienced at developing effective, senior-level working relationships with suppliers and customers, focusing on performance, value-add and innovation.
- A passion for customer service, with broad experience in a customer-facing environment.
- Considerable experience at delivering significant projects on target and on time.
- Ability to develop, mentor and coach staff.
- Must have legal right to live and work in NZ.
