About the Role As a Senior Portfolio Manager , you will be a key member of the National Cervical Screening Programme working across a number of key portfolios including Laboratory services, National Coordination Centre, and quality assurance contracts. This role sits within our Prevention directorate of NPHS and is a fixed term, full time opportunity. The Senior Portfolio Manager will be responsible for managing contracts and relationships with providers. This includes monitoring, evaluation and reporting on performance, as well as providing feedback to providers. They will also lead, provide strategic guidance, and advise on a wide range of service delivery, training, funding and accountability activities, prioritising and evaluating work generated by key stakeholders About the Team/Service/ Location The NPHS within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored. About you You will be an experienced portfolio manager who is confident working in a fast-paced environment and getting ‘stuck in' with a range of work. You have the ability to draw on relevant longer-term experience specific to the job and work demands. You have proven experience in proactively identifying and managing risks and issues associated with the programme and/or business processes. Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action Strong relationship management skills and experience in engaging with a range of sector groups and agencies Proven experience implementing quality standards to be able to monitor and measure performance during programme change Extensive experience in contract management, implementation, governance and performance management, ideally with health or other social service providers Strong written and communication skills with an ability to take complex information and synthesise it into key messages for relevant audiences Demonstrable relationship management skills with ability to foster good stakeholder relationships through consultation and partnership Experience in a public health or other social service provider organisation Working for Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
