We’re seeking the support of a highly capable and collaborative Head of Strategy and Advocacy to join our team in a full-time permanent position. You can be based anywhere in New Zealand.

**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

Reporting to the GM of Performance, Risk and Governance, the Head of Strategy and Advocacy is responsible for developing and managing our suite of strategies to support our organisation’s vision. You will lead the strategic planning process to ensure alignment of our work and enable achievement of our strategic goals. You’ll also develop and lead delivery of our advocacy strategy and work programme, alongside developing external strategic relationships with advocacy partners and other stakeholders to advance our priorities.

Leading our Population Health Advisor and Principal Advisor - Pasifika, you’ll provide direction on our population health work programme, ensuring that our work to address health inequities is driven by evidence-based data and research.

As a credible and trusted advisor, you’ll have the opportunity to provide strategic advice and support to senior leadership to influence Whānau Āwhina Plunket services and make a genuine difference to improving the lives of tamariki and whānau. Analyse global and national trends, initiatives and research, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, to draw insight on what this means for Whānau Āwhina Plunket, using this information to make recommendations to shape our future.

You will also have/be:

- Previous experience in a senior-level strategy, public policy and/or advocacy role
- Proven experience of building strong relationships and credibility at senior levels within an organisation, including engagement at ELT and Board level
- A strategic thinker who understands the bigger picture, can think laterally about issues, risks and opportunities, and uses these insights to drive deliverables.
- A clear and concise communicator with excellent writing skills and proven record of writing submissions, papers, and briefings
- Proven ability to analyse and translate complex concepts and themes into easy to understand and meaningful insights that can be practically applied
