**About the role**

The Area Supervisor role is supported by a larger team, under the Northland Transportation Alliance Maintenance & Operations. The role itself, is one of eight across the region, predominantly undertaking contract audits, including work quality and inspection accuracy, as well as assisting with maintenance programme delivery, contractor relationships, on-site customer engagements and solution finding across the Far North local road network. The role is vital in supporting the delivery of quality work standards, the meeting of performance targets, and timely and accurate reporting achieved, providing customers with best outcomes. This role reports to a Team Lead, located within the Far North.

The holder of this role will be employed by Far North District Council and will be based in Kaikohe.

**About you**:
We are seeking someone with a passion for delivering quality road maintenance services. Someone who can work confidently in both a team environment or under their own direction, and who is able to cope with intermittent workload pressures.

A civil construction, engineering, or road maintenance background is recommended, and strong collaboration skills with ability to engage, build and maintain strong relationships is an ideal attribute. Ideally, you’ll be working in the roading/construction industry and have some experience/knowledge of NZ’s roading regulations. You will lead by example with a discipline for housekeeping to ensure record keeping and transparency of evidence-based decision making is kept up to date.
