Westpac is New Zealand’s market leader in delivering complex payments, technology and data solutions to Institutional, Business and Government customers. We have a fantastic opportunity for a solution-oriented leader to join our Institutional team as Head of Global Transaction Services (GTS).

Reporting directly into the Head of Institutional you will have overall accountability for the GTS Strategy and Team. You will lead the GTS teams in Institutional and Business Banking, responsible for creating a high performing customer service and operational culture to achieve best customer outcomes in line with the strategic direction of the business. You will be tasked with creating a clear, articulated strategy and a roadmap for the GTS function at WNZL, focusing on working capital solutions including trade, ESG solutions, and an increased focus on customer service.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Development and execution of GTS growth strategies including being a driving force to determine both the short and long-term direction of WNZL’s transactional offering.- Maintaining an active presence in market - spokesperson for Westpac NZ’s transactional offering- Influencing across the Bank to ensure Transactional offering is best in market and initiatives are given due attention and elevation in Quarterly Business Reviews.- Designing and embedding GTS offering in the ESG space- Assist in the redesign of a service model to suit a best-in-class customer journey for WIB/BB/Agri customers- Ensuring strong risk management practices are embedded across the GTS Team- Supporting and embedding process improvement and digitisation initiatives.- Ensuring the development of individuals and to grow a high performing team to maximise employee performance- Developing an environment where people are engaged, confident and understand how their role contributes to the strategic objectives of WNZL and IBB

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?- Expert knowledge of the financial services industry, within a Business-to-Business environment (10+ years) or ideally 10+ years banking experience, preferably within a transactional banking, payments or digital focus.- Exceptional people leadership with demonstrated success in motivating people to do their best,- Coaching in a high-performance environment to achieve sustainable business success.- A comprehensive understanding and proven experience in implementing large scale change agenda combined with a successful history of delighting customers in a sales and service areas, a deep understanding of NPS drivers.- Proven management, coaching, problem solving and planning skills with an emphasis on using training to lift and build out capability gaps whilst being accountable for maintaining operational and compliance excellence- Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills (internally and externally) and can communicate with credibility- Customer centric, a team-player and exhibits drive, resilience and high levels of personal integrity and professionalism- Ability to recognise areas of opportunity, to adapt and innovate and to drive productivity improvements- Strategic thinking- Highest level of stakeholder management and the ability to professionally articulate and present business propositions
