**Mo te tunga | About the role**

Station Support Officers (SSO) are pivotal to the efficient and effective delivery of front counter and back-office services within a police station.

The role of Frontline Station Support Officer is to provide customer service for our Front Counter based at the Hamilton Central Police Station. Every day you will be dealing with challenging situations which will need to be approached with professionalism, respect, empathy and in a positive manner. You will be welcoming customers into the station and ensuring their enquiries are understood and handled appropriately, this accounts for around sixty percent of the SSO role.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Dealing with challenging circumstances in a customer services environment
- Managing challenging situations involving members of the public in a professional, respectful, and empathetic manner.
- Recording of complaints from members of the public, answering general inquiries and performing reception duties such managing contractor / visitor access.
- Strong Organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Typing speed and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Available to work on Weekends and Public Holidays on request

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $ $69,337 and $72,430 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
