We have an exciting opportunity for an assistant/graduate level planner in our Urban Regeneration Team in Ōtautahi Christchurch.

**_ The team's work:_**
As a member of the Urban Regeneration Team you'll work across a broad spectrum of initiatives to enable communities' aspirations for quality places and neighbourhoods. We influence the city's spatial policy and planning frameworks and help deliver strategic objectives, including through
- preparing revitalisation strategies,
- developing neighbourhood plans,
- supporting community-led initiatives that reflect local identity and build capacity, and
- delivering creative placemaking projects.

This work reflects the Council's commitment to creating a city of opportunity and accelerating the momentum the city needs. We work collaboratively, with a strong partnership focus.

**_ Who we're looking for:_**
We are looking for an innovative, positive and collaborative person with a strategic focus and an ability to turn ideas into action. Your relevant tertiary qualification, and enthusiasm for urban regeneration, will set you up for success in this role. Your verbal and written communication skills will be a strength along with problem solving abilities and a talent for adapting to changing situations. You'll have an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the legislative context we work in.

- Location_ - This position is primarily based at Civic Offices

Whilst staff working at the Christchurch City Council are not currently required to be vaccinated, applicants need to be aware that should the COVID-19 environment change, roles across the organisation will be assessed, and the requirement to be vaccinated may be reviewed.
