**ABOUT SOFTBALL NEW ZEALAND**

Softball is in New Zealand's sporting psyche - from our world-class Black Sox and White Sox men's and women's programmes to our 20,000 grassroots participants softball is a whanau-based sport for life. A gender-equal game, softball is alive with growth and opportunity for all ages.

The New Zealand Black Sox regularly inspire the nation with medal-winning efforts and with 7 world titles, hold the mantle as New Zealand's most successful field-based sporting team. The Black Sox are currently ranked 7th in the world.

**ROLE SUMMARY**

As the National Coach, you will have overall responsibility for:

- Leading the Black Sox programme to optimise the performance of the national team on the world stage.
- Continuing the development of a high-performance culture, characterized by honesty, trust, transparency, open communication, and high levels of care.
- Producing a robust and well-planned selection process.
- Working closely with the CEO, Board, and other key stakeholders in ensuring strategic alignment with the wider national pathway.

**DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Track record of coaching elite Softball teams to success at national or international level.
- Outstanding knowledge of all facets of the game, plus insight into trends and developments at international level.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing a comprehensive, holistic high-performance programme for elite teams and players.
- History of building and driving a high-performance culture.
- Successful management of internal and external stakeholder relationships toward the achievement of joint objectives and targets.
- Take an active role in succession planning for national players and coaches.
- Contribute to the Softball New Zealand High Performance strategy.
