The role:

- Leading and managing the strategy, design and implementation of numerous complex data flows to connect systems of record data via data pipelines and the data hub through to the data lake and data warehouse
- Leading and facilitating the definition of high-level data and information architecture models, including the development and / or maintenance of a master data management model and strategy
- Identifying and implementing a data maturity model to measure and enhance enterprise data maturity
- Assisting in establishing and running a Data Governance Committee to ensure the disciplines of data accuracy, definitions, timeliness and availability of data are clearly understood and maintained
- Ensuring data management strategies and systems are linked, to allow the programme to manage its information and derive maximum return on investment.
- Gathering specific requirements and problem solve through details of the data required by the systems of record programme
- As the Data expert provide advice to project and non-project stakeholders and contribute to planning, risk/issues management, reporting and governance activities as required.
- Ensuring all data solutions meet the needs of the Systems of Record Programme including data-streaming and data pipeline solutions which ensure accuracy, completeness and full lineage of the data
- Leading and managing a technical team in line with HR guidelines and inclusion & diversity approach Key responsibilities include mentoring and coaching the Data Management practice, monitoring and measuring of data quality, security, privacy and value
- Ensuring the quality of data requirements are reflected in the tasks and priorities of team
- Ensuring signoff of migrated data from the business
- Facilitating system feasibility studies, proof of concepts, pilot projects and testing whilst working with stakeholders to define business / system requirements within a cloud
- based data architecture
- Working with cross-functional teams to develop, implement and maintain all data management policies and procedures including cloud-based enterprise data ecosystems architecture, standards, monitoring, and service provision
- Critically assess business cases supporting the introduction of technology solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation
- Ensuring a positive customer experience and promoting a culture focused on ensuring customer needs are met
- Facilitating regular feedback session with stakeholders to ensure engagement

Knowledge and skills:

- Significant experience of 10+ years successfully delivering large-scale ICT programmes in an Agile environment and/or in the capacity of Data Architecture or Data Management or equivalent in complex, large scale ICT environments
- Experienced in the use of data management and data governance platforms including the underlying components which govern Data Quality, Integrity, Lineage, Cataloguing and the like
- Experience leading technical teams under a matrix management model to deliver results and the ability to mentor, coach, and support others in the delivery of the work programme
- Proven track record in managing the scope and prioritisation of data management system implementations
- Experience in leading or working with cloud-based data and analytics architecture teams including end to end data management and governance
- Proven experience as a strategic thinker with the ability to balance a broad range of internal/external factors utilising expert stakeholder management skills
- Proven experience communicating complex topics with both technical and business audiences in prior roles
- Understanding and experience of SDLC principles and practice and well versed in software development lifecycle methodologies and the impact on data management
- Significant skills using large ERP solutions and multi-modal delivery methodology’s
- Exceptional written and verbal technical and business communication skills
- Can communicate effectively across all levels of the business, reconcile differences and collaboratively work to achieve positive outcomes
- Ability to prototype and co-design innovative solutions
