The Marketing Services team plays a key role in attracting students and helping raise the profile of the University.

**_The role/Te mahi_**

As a Marketing Adviser, you’ll provide strategic marketing advice and partner an academic division to develop and manage their marketing strategy and activities.

You will provide your marketing expertise to support the division and our internal clients within your assigned portfolio. This will include liaising with senior stakeholders and academics at all levels within the division and the wider university.

Analysing trends, student data and insights is key to the role in order to build clear objectives and strategies. You will then work closely with Marketing Specialists and/or Coordinators to plan work streams and deliverables through the wider marketing team including our in-house design, content, events and web teams, as well as external agencies.

You’ll enjoy working closely with our Events and School Liaison teams in the planning and executing of student recruitment events. Attending and representing the university here on campus and travelling around the country interacting with future students and whānau at expo’s.

We are looking for a qualified, organised, and customer focused marketing professional who has a passion for the University of Otago and its vision.

You will also need to have:

- Relevant marketing experience. Experience within education or complex service categories are an advantage.
- Strong client service/stakeholder management experience and the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships is vital.
- Experience in data analytics, consumer research and ability to synthesis into workable insights and actions.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively - a true team player.
- Strong project-management skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to juggle and prioritise urgent vs important.
- Experience in modern marketing techniques including search, digital and social.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Confidence in presenting and interacting with the public.
- Event and/or experiential experience an advantage.
- Knowledge of markets, marketing relationships, and networks specific to Māori and/or Pasifika audiences an advantage.
- Optimistic energy.

We are recruiting for two full-time, permanent advisers. The positions are located in Dunedin.
