**Salary**: $65,000 to $75,000
Kōrero mō te tūranga ' About the role
The Emergency Management Coordinator works within the District Emergency Management team to facilitate best practice emergency preparedness and response to manage emergencies on hospital sites. This covers emergencies such as mass casualty, fire, essential services failures and any incident that threatens to disrupt hospital service delivery.
The role includes developing and delivering training exercises, conducting compliance and regulatory events such as trial evacuations, and hands on response to any presenting emergency or disruption to service. You will also be involved in creating plans and processes to support the hospitals and associated services to meet their obligations under the CDEM Act. In addition the role will include portfolios assigned as an area of personal responsibility, prioritised under the annual service plan and work programme.
The role includes an on call rotating roster of 1:5, covering 24/7 across the district.

The team comprises a District Manager, a Business Continuity Planner, a Service Development Manager and 3 Emergency Coordinator roles.
The emergency management team contributes to a whole of sector approach to any health or civil emergency. We work closely with government and non-government agencies to ensure the health response meets its obligations under the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002. Emergency Management's core function is to build resilience to unpredictable health emergencies across a range of health service providers, within a hospital and community setting.
Core functions include planning, training, testing preparedness and executing the emergency response in accordance with the 4 R's of best practice emergency management.
Moū ' About you
To be successful in this role you will have knowledge of and experience in Emergency Management best practice, coordinated incident management systems (CIMS), and emergency legislation as it relates to Health and Civil Defense requirements. Alternatively, you may have a background in hospital or health environments along with proven change management and/or people leadership experience.
- Proficient technical and research skills
- Drivers License is required
- Sophisticated communication skills ' both written and verbal
- Problem solving/creative and analysis skills
- Enthusiastic, energised with a can-do attitude A tertiary level education ' Emergency Management Qualification or clinical qualification is advantageous.
