**Tēnei tūranga - About the Role**:
The Verification Officer role is part of a global network that supports immigration decisions. Working closely with Immigration Officers and other Immigration New Zealand teams you will act as a risk and verification expert and provide advice for all internal clients, specifically as it relates to visa from applicants in North, Central and South America, and the Caribbean.

The Verification Officer provides high level analysis on risk, issues and trends arising from markets which may affect the integrity of the immigration system. The Verification Officer undertakes robust risk monitoring and review activities to support decision-making that results in positive outcomes for New Zealand, while also providing advice on appropriate risk management strategies to decision-makers.

Working collaboratively with external agencies and with New Zealand and offshore staff you will develop strong professional relationships to leverage positive and timely immigration related outcomes.

**Skills and Experience Required**
- Experience in using tools/systems and templates to assess and validate documentation and information.
- Knowledge of visa processing and border operations.
- Highly developed written communication and report writing skills.
- Experience working in a regulatory environment.
- Experience with stakeholder engagement.
- Understanding of North, Central and South America, and the Caribbean.
- Knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese is advantageous.
