Product Owner

The Digital Capability team work closely with the Product Team to provide TVNZ's digital products, TVNZ+ and 1News, to Aotearoa. Working as part of the Digital Capability team, the Product Owner will collaborate with Product Managers on the future product roadmap and be responsible for turning the product vision into an actionable backlog; creating user epics, stories and acceptance criteria; leading their squad with grooming, estimations and sprint planning; coordination of user acceptance and training. The Digital Capability delivery methods are primarily agile, but may require some waterfall or hybrid approaches. **The opportunity - Te tūranga** - Responsible for maximizing the value of the product resulting from the work of the squad. - Lead change; drive for continuous improvement proactively and innovatively - Turns customer pains, problems and feature opportunities into epics and actionable user stories. - Lead backlog grooming with the team to get the right break up, estimates, phasing and defining sprint goals. - Prioritizes epics and user stories to ensure that the squad is clear on what to work on next, with oversight from the product manager - Attends all agile and scrum meetings and actively ensure that development work is aligned with the roadmap set by the product manager. - Communicates the voice of the customer to the squad. - Provides feedback on the validated roadmap to the product manager - Analyse business requirements with an agile mindset across the various delivery methodologies, to deliver rapid iterative business value - Contemplate wider systems and business issues; evaluate and measure the impact of issues and recommendations across the whole business - Lead the User Acceptance Testing process to validate the solution's performance against requirements - Assist with support documentation and transition to BAU - Liaise with required vendors to manage and clarify requirements - Work with the business owners to coordinate and conduct any necessary user training and delivery activities - Be a key member of the product owner community of practice in the Organisation and contribute to the knowledge growth of product ownership - Act as a change champion for new product ownership and project delivery methodologies **What we're looking for - Tā mātou e kimi nei** To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone that has the following: Job Specific Skills - Strong understanding of business analysis and product ownership principles, techniques & tools. - Effective facilitation and influencing skills. - Strong stakeholder management skills. - Communicates with clarity and effectively across all levels within the Organisation. - Demonstrated experience in technical business analysis and project delivery methodologies across Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid. - Good listening and communications skills. - Good grasp of Jira and Confluence (or similar). Education - Tertiary qualified or equivalent experience. - Relevant Agile or Business / Systems Analysis qualifications / courses.
