Cambridge, New Zealand Thames-Coromandel District Council Full time

**Part-time | Fixed-term until Friday, 27 February 2026 | Based in Cambridge**

Are you looking to re-enter the workforce? Ready to try something new and meaningful in local government? This is your opportunity to gain valuable experience and build your skills in a supportive team environment—right here in the heart of Cambridge.

We're looking for a vibrant, customer-focused individual to join our friendly Customer Experience team on the front counter in a part-time, fixed-term role covering an internal secondment. This is a **job share** position, working **24 hours per week** on **Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays** out of our Cambridge office.

To set you up for success, the role will temporarily increase to **32 hours per week (four days)** for the first **eight weeks**, giving you time to complete our comprehensive onboarding and training programme with our dedicated Customer Experience Trainer.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who:

- Is returning to the workforce
- Wants to gain experience in local government
- Is looking for a stable, people-focused role with excellent training and support
- Is available for an immediate start (although we can accommodate notice periods)

Ideally, you'll bring at least two years of customer service experience in a similar environment, confidence using computers and navigating multiple systems, and some cash-handling experience. You'll be calm under pressure, friendly and professional in your approach, and able to juggle multiple tasks while keeping the customer at the heart of everything you do.

At Waipā District Council, first impressions matter—and you'll be the face of our organisation. Our Customer Experience team is engaged, fun, hardworking, and focused on delivering excellence every day.
