Applications are sought for a health care assistant to work in OPAL.
We are looking for a permanent, part time (0.8FTE) Health Care Assistant to join our team.

OPAL is a 31-bedded ward for older people with frailty and acute medical illness. It is part of the MidCentral Healthy Ageing and Rehabilitation (HAR) Cluster based in Palmerston North and has links to the Community Elder Health Team.

For this position, essential requirements include:

- The ability to adapt easily in a changing environment
- The ability to be flexible and prioritise
- The ability to work effectively within a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A high degree of physical capacity
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Sensitivity to cultural and ethnic differences
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Desirable competencies:

- Successful completion of a Care Givers or related course.
