**He angitūtanga: The opportunity**
Librarians play a key role in providing a welcoming, professional and great library service. They collaborate with customers in the library and in the community making it easy for people to access and use the various library resources that are available to them. Librarians have community at their heart and consistently provide excellent customer service to ensure all customers receive an unforgettable experience.
This role is currently worked at the Glenfield Library. This library has a strong community focus, offering an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone. In this exciting role with variety and challenge, you will be leading the development, promotion and delivery of community-focused programmes and events designed to engage the public with local libraries within the Kaipātiki Local Board.
Our libraries are open 7 days a week so flexibility around working hours including a weekend day is required.
**He kōrero mōu: About you**
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Use library processes & systems with confidence
- Set the standard for promotions including posters, networking/ social media
- Collaborate and co-design with the community inside and outside the library
- Build and maintain community connections
- Promote and raise awareness of library resources, services, and programmes
- Exhibit excellent communication and customer service skills
- Enable and support the co-design of programmes and services
- Balance multiple tasks and priorities
- Confidently use social media platforms to engage with the community.
The role will form part of the leadership team in the library’s day-to-day operations and support for team members.
