National Manager

**Te** **kōwhiringa | The Opportunity**

Reporting to the General Manager Infrastructure & Property FM, the principal purpose of the National Manager - Property FM is to guide, encourage and motivate a strong operational team to deliver agreed business and customer outcomes across the reactive facilitate maintenance, operations services, asset management and minor projects for the Property FM contracts allocated.

The role ensures strong and consistent operational performance meeting contract requirements and optimizing the resource pool ensuring Downer are delivering safety, productively, meeting service levels and financial thresholds while managing customers and stakeholder expectations and satisfaction.

The key objectives of the role are to:

- Provide visible leadership, guidance and harmonisation of the team to inspire and develop a high performing, collaborative operation.
- Nurture and develop a Zero Harm culture.
- Championing the growth and development of our people as leaders and technical specialists.
- Engage with and influence customers in a manner that achieves the right outcomes. Maintaining a detailed understanding of all aspects of the agreements and contracts and ensure contracts are managed against KPIs and optimise utilisation and productivity of resources.
- Assist in leading governance, deliverables, and service levels across all work types, customers and technologies.
- Optimise overall workforce productivity, fit-for-purpose technical capability and competence of staff and optimizing internal and external resourcing mix.
- Be responsible for the commercial success of all contract management activities in line with expectations and financial thresholds.

**Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills**

To be successful in this role, you will bring us great relationship management skills, good financial and commercial acumen, proven management and a collaborative working style. You will lead from the front and set the example for your teams to follow. You will also bring with you:

- 5+ years at a senior level in a similar size business or business unit ($20m+ revenue, approx. 100+ staff, external sub-contractor network, multi-site locations).
- Proven experience in delivering complex asset management, facilities maintenance and operations services, preferably from the Facilities and Property or similar environment.
- Experience in leading significant positive change in a service environments.
- Proven record in driving safety and operation performance improvement.
- Experience in working at a senior leadership team level internally and with customers.
- Desirable to hold a tertiary qualification or equivalent. Qualification in a related discipline, e.g. engineering, commercial, operations management.

This role requires regular and frequent national travel to all regions within NZ but can be planned to work within your schedule.
