**Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the team**
The Communications Office, part of the wider Communications and Engagement Division, is responsible for building and protecting the reputation of the University, its staff, students, and wider community through a variety of ways. The Staff Communications team works as part of this team to ensure staff and internal stakeholders are kept informed and engaged, ensure issues and crisis are communicated with sensitivity and that staff engage with change initiatives proactively and positively.
**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**
Seeking a strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder engagement experience for the role of Staff Communications Adviser.
You will support the Professional Services Leadership Team (PSLT) in developing communications strategies and in creating/distributing communications that build trust, promote transparency and improve awareness of the professional services delivered across the University. This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent role. The salary range for this role is between $95,000 - $99,900 based on skills and experience. **Key responsibilities**:
- Develop and execute an overarching plan for communicating service effectiveness and service improvement initiatives that demonstrate a functions’ ongoing commitment of delivering mana-enhancing services to their customers.
- Work with Function Leads and PSLT to communicate service improvement priorities arising from annual Function Plans, facilitate stakeholder feedback and provide updates on the progress of these priorities.
- Research, write and edit compelling stories with a focus on service effectiveness/improvements for use in newsletters and on the staff intranet.
- Develop effective and constructive partnerships with PSLT, Function Leads and senior leadership across the University, and provide them communications advisory support for change initiatives, service improvements etc.
- Lead growth and adoption of the University’s two-way staff comms channel, Campus Kōrero (Viva Engage) by creating and implementing a wide range of campaigns that align to a Function’s strategic priorities.
**He kōrero mōu | About you**
You will be able to think strategically and creatively, offering a high level of detail to everything that you do. You excel at building relationships and are comfortable with advising senior members of staff. You are an excellent writer experienced at creating user-focused communications and can deliver under pressure.
**It is essential you have;**
- A Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or a related field.
- Developed and implemented communications and engagement strategies within a large and complex organisation.
- At least five years’ experience in internal communications, corporate communications or related roles.
- Strong communication skills to guide senior and other colleagues on the development, review and implementation of communication and engagement strategies.
