We seeking an Operations/Asset Analyst to join our Digital, Systems and Information (DS&I) team in Avalon, Lower Hutt. This is a role that will enable you to make a meaningful contribution to the organisation by leading optimisation and compliance for Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM), and by identifying cost-saving opportunities across the DS&I portfolio. You will have excellent data analysis skills, an eye for detail, and love what you do.

About the role

As our Operations / Asset Analyst, you will be is responsible for monitoring and managing Assets at GNS.You will monitor cloud usage and expenses and manage the technology asset register to ensure optimal efficiency and compliance of technology assets across GNS. This role is critical to identifying cost-saving opportunities, supporting budget planning, and helping GNS deliver cost-effective services including cloud operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and report on cloud usage against budget and forecast, in collaboration with the Platform and Infrastructure Team.
- Analyse data to identify trends and potential cost-saving opportunities and create optimisation recommendations for consideration.
- Create reports, dashboards, and alerts to track information related to assets and spend.
- Manage and oversee the Digital, Systems and Information (DS&I) asset register to maximise the efficiency and lifecycle of all technology assets, focusing on cost control, risk, and compliance.

Required Experience and Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, IT, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- FinOps Certified Practitioner or at least 2 years of financial working experience with public cloud cost management & optimisation on AWS and/or GCP and/or Azure and three plus years’ experience with private and/or public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- ITAM related certification (ITILv3 or v4).
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Information Technology Operations for product life cycles, network computing, and capital expenditure.
- Significant experience in monitoring and reporting on IT asset management performance, cost control, compliance and risk.
- Power BI skills.
