The data, digital and insights (DDI) business group is working hard to build MBIE towards being digitally enabled and empowered by data - connected, trusted and innovative. In doing so, we ensure that MBIE can meet the needs of our customers (ministers, staff, business, Māori and community groups).
To help us on this journey, we have exciting opportunity for an Advisor (Data Sharing) to join the team supporting our Director Data Sharing. In this role, you will be ensuring that MBIE’s data sharing requirements are met and its data sharing capability is uplifted.
You will be contributing or supporting initiatives and projects that enable data sharing to support data insights and operational outcomes and embed appropriate data governance practices across MBIE. You will be working closely with the Director Data Sharing and the team to develop solutions to MBIE and its partners’ data sharing needs and support cross-system work and partnerships.
You will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop relationships across a diverse range of people. You will come with a proactive, can-do attitude and an ability to learn along the way.

**We are keen to hear from you if you have**:
- An interest in the development of data sharing arrangements between domestic and international agencies/organisations.
- Some experience and knowledge in consultation processes with senior leaders, ministerial offices, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and other key stakeholders.
- An ability to quickly establish and build strong working relationships and to develop trust and credibility with senior managers, staff and key internal and external stakeholders
- An ability to introduce new ways of looking at problems and adopt creative new approaches
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A tertiary qualification, preferably in a relevant field or comparable relevant experience is desirable
- Previous public sector experience is preferred but not essential
