Over 300 people from 10 different engineering disciplines work out of our Christchurch office, which has a depth of knowledge and exciting office culture that enables our people to play a huge role in the day to day life of people in New Zealand and beyond.

To be part of our exciting growth, we are looking for an Electrical & Controls Engineer to join our Southern Industrial team of around 20 mechanical, process and electrical engineers who have significant depth of expertise in EI&C as well as other engineering disciplines. We are a close knit team who enjoy being part of the Christchurch office culture which showcases our values of enjoyment, partnership, care and tenacity

As a team we directly interface with clients, contractors and vendors to work on a diverse range of projects across New Zealand, Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. In this role, every day will be different and expose you to new challenge, but overall, you can expect:

- Work across a very wide range of clients, industries and types of work, anything and everything from 11kV down.
- Design and development of instrumentation and electrical systems, including single-line diagrams; motor-starter drawings; electrical layouts; instrument loop diagrams; cable schedules; PLC I/O schedules to name a few.
- Project management, procurement, and commissioning for existing and greenfield plants.
- Scope/requirements definition and procurement of equipment, software & installation works.
- Detailed design, contractual report writing & construction related services.
- Partner alongside the broader team to grow our share of industrial projects in the southern region and beyond.
- Travel to meet with clients at their manufacturing sites, and to other Beca offices

**About you**

You love to learn and share knowledge and are someone who can bring a fresh perspective. You are an E,I&C Engineer with a passion for design and problem-solving with an enquiring mind, ability to problem solve and think laterally. Through your experience in a similar consultancy or contractor environment you have developed your skills in delivery and are committed to owning quality client outcomes. How you work is also important to us - we will value and reward your enthusiasm and motivation to continue to learn from your peers and more senior members of the team.
