**Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi - About the Role**

The Academic Staff Member (ASM) or Senior Academic Staff Member (SASM) kaimahi in Electrical Engineering will be an experienced academic tutor to teach a range of electrical and electronic engineering topics, for NZ Diploma of Engineering and Bachelor of Engineering Technoloy along with supporting lower or higher level courses. Examples of courses with immediate need include: Engineering Fundamentals (Electrical), Programmable Logic Controls, and High Power Electric Motors, among others. Prior teaching experience is highly desirable.. The following skills and backgrounds are highly desirable: RF, wireless engineering, robotics, AI, and machine learning as implemented in physical systems.

**Ngā Pūkenga Me Ngā Wheako - Skills and Experience**
- A Bachelor qualification in the area of the programme of study or a related discipline.
- Current industry/discipline knowledge
- A high level of understanding and experience in the knowledge and practices related to the Programme of Study.
- Ability to contribute to research outputs.
- Knowledge and competency in the use of the relevant tools (hardware and software) that are used in Industry for those allocated courses that are taught in the Programme of Study
- Capable of supporting students to achieve their learning outcomes.
- The ability to develop and implement flexible teaching and learning methods, including the use of learning technologies
- Passionate about the industry and the field of practice as covered in the Program of Study for which the role is linked to and the opportunities to improve practice or give back to the industry and society through education.
