This is a rare opportunity to join our highly regarded and experienced education team. If you have an interest in Te Arawa history, Rotorua history and the arts then this is for you. We are looking for a self-starter who able to plan, prepare, promote, deliver and evaluate Rotorua Museum education services including delivery of Enhancing Local Curriculum (ELC) programmes for the Ministry of Education contract and other educational services for the Museum and wider RLC as required. Be a part of our team as we enter an exciting phase in preparation to re-open the Museum in 2027.

This role requires:

- Competency in Te Reo Maori and Te Reo Pakeha. To facilitate and confidently deliver curriculum-based learning in both languages at the museum, library and other venues through the presentation of programmes, teaching groups, and management of visiting groups
- Contributing to the planning, development and implementation of curriculum-linked programmes and tailored lessons utilising the unique museum resources available
- Contributing to the planning, development and implementation of educational resources for use by visiting school and learning groups
- Contributing to the planning of promotional material for Museum education services and distributing to schools and other learning organisations
- Liaising with teachers in preparation for class visits.
- To support the participation of every akonga in our programmes (responding to the diversity of identities, languages, cultures and abilities in our school communities)
- Compliance with all RLC policies and procedures, as well any specific policies and procedures for Rotorua Museum and its education services.
