Be a part of our team as we enter an exciting phase in preparation to re-open the Museum in 2027.
This role requires:
- Competency in Te Reo Maori and Te Reo Pakeha. To facilitate and confidently deliver curriculum-based learning in both languages at the museum, library and other venues through the presentation of programmes, teaching groups, and management of visiting groups

- Contributing to the planning, development and implementation of educational resources for use by visiting school and learning groups
- Contributing to the planning of promotional material for Museum education services and distributing to schools and other learning organisations
- Liaising with teachers in preparation for class visits.
- To support the participation of every akonga in our programmes (responding to the diversity of identities, languages, cultures and abilities in our school communities)
- Compliance with all RLC policies and procedures, as well any specific policies and procedures for Rotorua Museum and its education services.
Te Kaunihera o nga Roto o Rotorua (Rotorua Lakes Council) is committed to working in partnership with Te Arawa, our local iwi. We aspire to being a bicultural organisation and we value staff who speak te reo Maori, have an appreciation of Maori values, and a working knowledge of tikanga Maori.
If you have a passion for teaching, and commitment to building relationships and engagement within our community then you just might be the person we are looking for.
