**Te Tūranga - The Role**

We are seeking a skilled **Test Engineer** to join our Test Engineering Team within the Manufacturing Group. In this hands-on role, you will design, build, install, and support test jigs and systems for new and existing products, ensuring reliable, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing outcomes.

You will work from defined requirements and design concepts to create production-ready test systems, while also maintaining, improving, and troubleshooting existing manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and maximize yield.

**The duties of the role will include**:

- Designing, building, and installing hardware and/or software-based test jigs and equipment
- Collaborating with product designers and process owners to define and agree test requirements
- Diagnosing, repairing, modifying, and maintaining existing test systems and equipment
- Prioritizing urgent issues to minimize manufacturing downtime while meeting project milestones
- Supporting Manufacturing to improve the effectiveness and yield of test systems
- Creating and maintaining clear documentation for test equipment development and modifications
- Assisting with calibration of test jigs and equipment where required
- Participating in the Manufacturing Call-Out Roster, with standby and call-out remuneration provided

**Ō pūkenga - About You**

To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification and strong hands-on experience in test engineering within a manufacturing environment.

As well as:

- Expertise in electronic design, including analog, digital, and RF circuitry
- Experience in software development for single-board computers, PCs, and test systems
- Proficiency in programming languages such as VB, C, or Python
- Experience programming microprocessors and single-board computers (e.g. Arduino)
- Strong skills in designing and building PC-controlled test equipment
- Experience with PCB fabrication, assembly, and component-level repair
- Knowledge of manufacturing principles and Design for Manufacturability
- The ability to troubleshoot, prioritize effectively, and work flexibly in a fast-paced production environment
