Electronics Test Engineer

Dawn Aerospace is seeking a skilled Electronics Test Engineer to join our innovative Space Propulsion Electronics team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing sustainable satellite propulsion electrical systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in our hardware and software production processes and have a critical role in the realisation of cutting-edge satellite propulsion technology.
**As an Electronics Test Engineer, your responsibilities will include**:
- Designing, building, and commissioning automated production end-of-line test jigs, including software scripting.
- Enhancing existing production processes, methods and documentation.
- Analysing current and prospective production designs, proposing design-for-manufacture improvements.
- Managing and maintaining the hardware production release process, ensuring up-to-date, high-quality production board data.
- Investigating the suitability of potential suppliers.
- Debugging circuit boards as needed and providing design change suggestions/bug reports.
- Handling non-conformance reports related to electronics production items.
- Assessing circuit board design and manufacturing processes for compliance with standards such as ECSS, IPC, and AS9100/AS9001.
**Requirements**:
**To be successful in this role, you must have**:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or demonstration of exceptional ability.
- Knowledge of electronics test process and infrastructure including pogo pin jigs.
- Strong understanding of circuit theory and electronics fundamentals.
- Sound PCB design skills and proficiency in EDA software.
- FMEA reliability assessment and regulatory standards testing experience.
- Enthusiasm for troubleshooting and demonstration of debugging skills with electronic hardware.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
**Desired Qualifications/Experience**:
- Have experience designing and testing electronics to ECSS, NASA or other Aviation/Aerospace specifications.
- Experience with volume production of electronics.
- Have proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C, C++ and Git.
- Have experience developing HALT or HITL systems.
