**About the opportunity**
Working with other Managers and our Senior Leadership Team you will lead your small team to:
- Reform a range of transport rules and legislation, in order to modernise the way our transport system operates and allow it to operate more efficiently
- Improve the quality of advice through coaching and mentoring of staff
- Engage across agencies, with stakeholders, and with the Minister to build support for changes, ensure they can be implemented and achieve the Government’s objectives.
- Support the Ministry’s wider regulatory quality standards, through leadership of the RIA process internally.
Based on the work or support that may be required, this position is Wellington based only.
**What you’ll bring**
You will need the following
- Exemplary stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills - internally and externally (cross government, ministers and their offices, parliament)
- Extensive experience in providing complex policy advice to Ministers
- Proven ability to lead large projects and programmes with a focus on high standards and delivery
- Previous experience in building and leading a high performing team
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field is essential (eg Economics, Public Policy, Law)
**Salary range**
The base salary for this position is from $169,590 with a mid-point of $187,900 per annum (+ KiwiSaver). The salary offered will reflect skills and experience.
