**About the opportunity | Ngā whakamārama mō te tūnga**

The Revenue Team advises on the development and implementation of transport revenue tools, and monitors, forecasts and advises on land transport revenue.

Our team’s work is critical to ensure the land transport network - including roads, public transport, walking and cycling infrastructure, and public transport services - can be funded in a fair and sustainable way.

We are currently focused on a big legislative agenda to introduce time of use charging, enable greater use of tolling, and increase revenue levels. We work closely with the New Zealand Transport Agency to enable effective implementation.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Providing policy advice that applies economic principles and frameworks with a focus on effective implementation
- Scoping and planning policy projects in ambiguous and complex areas using appropriate project planning and management techniques
- Efficiently navigating machinery of government processes
- Coaching and mentoring less experienced staff
- Building and maintaining working relationships across other transport sector agencies and the wider government sector.

Based on the work or support that may be required, this position is Wellington based only.

**What you’ll bring | Te wāhi ki a koe**
- Strong experience and demonstrated capability in policy development and analysis in the public sector with a solid understanding of government policy-making procedures, good political nous and experience delivering large policy projects
- Significant experience and demonstrated capability in successfully building and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels, internally and externally, to achieve outcomes
- Significant experience and demonstrated capability communicating effectively (written and verbal) to diverse audiences
- Experience and demonstrated capability in building the capability of others, including the provision of guidance, mentoring and coaching
- A relevant tertiary qualification.

**Salary range | Whānuitanga Utu ā-Tau**

The base salary range budget for this position is **$109,208 - $145,055** (mid-point 120,878) per annum + KiwiSaver. The salary offered will reflect skills and experience.
