- The Government Property Office is accountable for the strategic leadership of the government's office accommodation portfolio and provisioning for the centralisation of components of the government's property function. _
- The Government Property Office is also responsible for delivering on MBIE's own property strategy as well as providing high-quality property management services to MBIE. The government's office accommodation portfolio is significant, encompassing circa 1,000,000 sqm of office space and a rental spend of circa $330 million per year across 73 agencies, including Crown Agents. MBIE is an agency with a significant property portfolio, encompassing both office and non-office sites, across New Zealand and offshore._

**Tenei turanga - About the Role**:
The Senior Data and Insights Analyst reports to the Lead Advisor Property Information and Performance within the Government Property Office. The Senior Data and Insight Analyst undertakes information gathering, data management, reporting and analysis functions to identify insights which inform the strategic direction and operations of the branch and Property System stakeholder initiatives.

In this role you will need to bring a strong business perspective and clear understanding of the value that efficient and effective exploitation of data and information assets brings to an organisation. You will have a comprehensive knowledge and experience of analytical tools including R, Power BI and SQL or equivalent. You will be competent in identifying opportunities for innovation in reporting and analytics capability by keeping abreast of developments within the IT industry and other parts of MBIE.

- Significant experience in data analysis, data quality management, data visualisation and data governance frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to gather, manipulate, analyse data, and generate appropriate reports in a timely manner.
- A strong understanding of transactional and reporting databases and Data warehouses.
- Highly developed analytical and conceptual thinking ability.
- Considerable analytical experience using complex and disparate information to deliver insights and trends.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience of:

- Analytical tools including R, Power BI and SQL or equivalent,
- Ability to interpret and create data documentation including dictionaries, report catalogues and models.
- Microsoft Office suite of programmes including advanced Excel, Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
- Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand
