Te Puni Kōkiri is the government's principal policy advisor on Māori wellbeing and development. We achieve strategic influence with a focus on providing high quality policy advice and holding other agencies to account for delivering public services to, for, and with Māori. This includes our mandate to promote Māori achievement in education, training, health and economic resource development along with performing our monitoring and mentoring roles.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Analyst in our Data & Insights team for someone with a strong focus on geospatial analysis. The Data & Insights Team sits within the wider Data, Insights, Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate. We are a friendly team focused on improving outcomes for Māori. The team is responsible for generating strategic and practical insights, building & maintaining data products. You will work collaboratively across the Ministry and across government on important kaupapa.

**Te whai wāhitanga | The opportunity**

Reporting to the Team Leader Data & Insights, you will contribute to the team's work programmewhich spans the data pipeline from collection, storage and insights on data. The Senior Analyst will work within TPK and alongside other government agencies to gather and share data and insights to. improve the outcomes for Māori.

**Mōu | About you**

You will have:

- Strong data analysis skills with a focus on geospatial skills
- A high standard of written and verbal communication.
- Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and critical reasoning skills
- Strong relationship management skills to quickly build and maintain relationships within and outside Te Puni Kōkiri
- Broad understandingof Te Tiriti ō Waitangi and recognise the importance of the Treaty from both Māori and Crown perspectives.
- Openness and willingness to learn in a te ao Māori environment and are comfortable in situations where tikanga is observed.
- Having a working knowledge and awareness of compliance obligations in respect of the Official Information Act 1982(OIA) that includes compiling and processing responses to OIA requests
