You will be part of a wider regional business support team who are vital to the successful operation of our organisation. If you are a self-starter that supports conservation growth and enjoys delivering an exceptional level of customer service internally across the Department, as well as, to the Public by resolving enquiries and providing solutions, keep reading.
**He angitūtanga: About the Role**
This is a fixed-term role for 12 months, based in our Gisborne office, and works as part of our Business Support Team assisting our Operations functions. Supporting different teams, this role requires someone who is agile, can quickly adapt and prioritise a number of tasks on the go, at any one time.
Main duties for the Business Support Role are:
- Managing the Gisborne office facilities
- Providing exceptional customer service internally and externally
- Managing our regional fleet of vehicles, making sure vehicles are available and safe for use
- Coordinating Property work orders
- General administration for the Gisborne office and operations
This is a fixed-term full-time position based in Gisborne with the flexibility to work from home at times.

- A strong administration background with demonstrated experience in administrative processes and services
- A drive to deliver an exceptional customer experience in every interaction.
- Effective communication, questioning and listening skills.
- Self-motivation to achieve goals and objectives in a busy working environment.
- A high level of organisational skills, the ability to deliver on time and solve problems as they arise.
- Initiative and independence with the ability to work under pressure to meet business-critical deadlines
- A thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- The ability to turn your hand to a multitude of tasks and easily pick up or learn new systems or processes.
- A great work ethic with a positive attitude and outlook.
- Full New Zealand Driver's License
**Desired**:
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Tikanga Māori and Te Ao Māori or a willingness to engage is an advantage
- An understanding of the work of the Department and how it contributes to New Zealand's future sustainability.
