The purpose of the Evidence-Based Policing (EBP) is to embed an evidence-based approach into all operations of Police.
By using information, crime-science, and problem-solving methods we will ensure that proven approaches and tactics guide our work, are seen in the results, and provide confidence that what we do works.
EBP is a critical function to support the organisation in realising its opportunity to be the best Police service and to deliver on Our Business.
The Operational Implementation team are the primary conduit between the EBP, Districts and Service Centres. Their primary function is the implementation and embedding of EBP projects, initiatives and evaluation outcomes in their District or Service Centres. They are also responsible for communicating the needs of the frontline to the EBP.
The operational implementation advisors support Districts by facilitating the implementation of new approaches and initiatives as developed by the EBP. They are responsible for supporting and working alongside District personnel to consider how best to implement initiatives at the District level. They are responsible for cultivating strong relationships, partnerships, and understanding between the Police frontline and the EBP.
In performing this role, the Operational Implementation Advisor will work collaboratively and seamlessly with others in multi-disciplinary and specific project teams across EBP and at times, the wider business.
They will be responsible for ensuring operational priorities and frontline need is considered and integrated where possible in high quality and innovative work.
**Key Accountabilities**:
Provide leadership, guidance, and support to ensure projects and initiatives can be tailored to operational realities.
Develop and maintain an awareness of current and developing research of best practice of EBP.
Identify strategic partners and develop strategic partnerships where appropriate to deliver projects.
Develop highly effective working relationships with colleagues within Evidence-Based Policing Centre and the wider business group.
Work closely to influence and support District staff to assist with partnership approaches to the implementation and embedding of EBP initiatives for the frontline.
Have the ability to use a range of research methodologies and tools, including relevant software, Police systems and tools to assist with co-design, delivery and monitoring of projects, and assist with the collection and analysis of results.
