The Role - Te Tūranga
Join our highly collaborative and supportive in-house legal team, where you'll get to see and influence a range of legal issues across the financial sector and contribute to the development of policy, legislation and outcome based regulatory reform.
It's a fast-paced and rewarding role offering the chance to work at the forefront of Aotearoa New Zealand's financial markets. There is real variety in the legal work we do, including advising on financial markets legislation and regulatory responses to potential legal breaches, regularly engaging across the organisation with a diverse range of stakeholders, market participants and their advisers, and contributing to policy development, guidance, law reform and key FMA projects.
You'll be empowered to contribute your ideas and knowledge while developing your capabilities by working alongside experienced legal professionals.
About you - Ō pūkenga
This position is suited to an experienced solicitor with 5+ years' post admission experience, and a current practising certificate (or entitlement to one).
We are open to considering talented lawyers from all backgrounds who are motivated to specialise in financial markets law and keen to make a positive impact on Aotearoa New Zealand's financial markets and consumer outcomes. You'll be able to demonstrate transferrable experience with navigating complex legislation, and enjoy thinking through novel legal issues with a sharp mind.
Experience with laws and regulations relevant to the financial sector (such as the Financial Markets Conduct Act) and/or familiarity with public and administrative law is a bonus.
