If you enjoy new challenges and pride yourself in delivering solutions efficiently and to a high standard, then the Waimakariri District Council has an exciting new opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Advisor to work within the Strategy & Business Unit based in Rangiora.

This exciting full-time, permanent role will be an important member of a team that is responsible for the development and delivery of strategies for Town Centres, Economic Development, Visitor Attraction, and commercial areas amongst others.

The Senior Advisor not only undertakes the review and development of strategies and plans that support the growth and economic wellbeing of the District’s centres and commercial areas, working closely with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve great outcomes, but also actively coordinates and delivers key Town Centre and other projects. The role is also pivotal in providing relationship management advice and support for business interactions, including in a case management capacity.

To be successful in this position you will have a good working knowledge of and/or experience in the development of strategies, plans and implementation, project management principles and practice, and complex programme development and delivery.

You will also have a good understanding of the principles and drivers behind economic development, and local government roles within economic development, together with sound knowledge of issues and trends relevant to the business sector.

We are looking for someone who thinks both critically and strategically and encourage innovative thinking to generate best value solutions. Having a great work ethic, being passionate and willing to bring energy and enthusiasm will definitely be a plus
