**Role Overview**:
As the Manager, Asset Management & Facilities, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective delivery of operational services and ensuring asset planning, management and maintenance for facilities across Council. This key leadership position leads a team of approximately 25 staff and involves coordinating resources, fostering collaboration within the Corporate Services Group and across Council teams, and ensuring the sustainable management of assets in alignment with the Council's strategic goals.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide leadership to a team of facilities and asset planning & data management professionals, ensuring the successful delivery of projects impacting diverse stakeholder groups.
- Ensure the team is consistently working collaboratively with other Council Units and Groups.
- Implement best practice for Facilities Management.
- Provide resources and effective processes to support the planning, construction, maintenance, operation and decommissioning of Council's assets.
- Drive operational excellence by establishing robust processes for contract management and strategic asset management.
- Provide technical advice across Council to ensure Council facilities and assets are of a high standard.
- Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships across Council and external stakeholders.
- Ensure the sustainable management of assets in accordance with the City's strategic documents and statutory requirements.
- Prepare regular progress and financial management reports.
- Provide input into the production of the annual plan and budgets.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Tertiary qualification at Degree level in a relevant area or related discipline, or extensive practical experience in a similar role.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in facilities Management, including 5 years of people management experience.
- Ideally previous local government experience.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Proven experience in building key partnerships and relationships with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong customer focus with a passion for continuous improvement
- A strategic focus, considering historical factors and potential future developments affecting team activities.
- Excellent communication skills, promoting two-way communication and feedback.
