Taupo, New Zealand Contact Energy Full time

**Company Description** Te Tākinatanga | Our Story**

At Te Mata Hiko (Contact Energy), we believe home is the most important place in the world. It's all part of our vision to leave Aotearoa better than we found it. We’re a power, mobile and broadband company, but we’re so much more than that. We are transforming the ways we mahi, and how Aotearoa is powered, leading the charge on renewable energy and digitising customer journeys in ways not yet seen here. A team of 1000+ from all walks of life who love what we do, look out for each other, and learn from one another every day, we’re stoked to be guided by our tikanga: _we touch lives to make life better._
**Job Description** Context of the role**

At Contact Energy, we're committed to driving New Zealand's decarbonisation efforts forward. With an ambitious investment pipeline focusing on Wind, Battery Energy Storage, Solar, and Geothermal projects, we're dedicated to executing breakthrough project delivery while building capability for current and future endeavors.

As part of our commitment to deliver these capital projects we're seeking a Senior Planner/Scheduler to join our Major Projects Group and help drive the success of our projects. This role will assist the development and execution teams in developing, monitoring, and updating an integrated project plan and schedule right throughout the project lifecycle, to ensure they're executed in the most efficient manner possible.

This role is broad but here's a taster of some of the key tasks;
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment with project objectives and milestones
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather input and update project schedules as needed
- Identify and analyse project risks and constraints, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success
- Monitor project progress and performance against schedule targets, and provide regular reports to management and stakeholders
- Lead schedule review meetings and provide guidance to project teams on schedule-related matters
- Collaborate with procurement and resource management teams to ensure timely availability of materials and resources for project execution
- Continuously improve planning and scheduling processes and tools to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.

Reporting to the Head of Major Projects Project Controls, you'll be part of a super talented, high performing and supportive team, and can expect to be work on cutting-edge projects where the work is interesting and varied.

Ideally you'll be based in Taupo, but we'll consider other locations as long as you're able to travel to our various sites.
**Qualifications** Ko wai koe | About you**

Ideally you'll have at least 10+ years of experience delivering complex, high value ($300m+ NZD) capital projects nationally and abroad. Specific experience within the renewable energy or construction industry is preferred.

You'll be collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders (both internal and external) and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are critical to getting the job done. A solid understanding of local industry context and ability to work across multidiscipline stakeholder groups, with a particular focus to maintain our excellent cultural relationships with Mana Whenua would be really beneficial.

You'll have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve schedule conflicts and constraints. You have an eye for detail and you're a pro when it comes to producing credible and reliable data. And, your inquisitive mindset means you are consistently focused on continuous improvement and leveraging industry best practice.

Your knowledge and proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6 scheduling software and MS Project is impressive. AACE or PMI Certification is highly regarded, but not a must have.
**Additional Information**
There are a bunch of perks to being a permanent Contact kaimahi (employee). Along with great leadership, teammates, development, and growth and progression opportunities, you’ll enjoy flexible working (this role can be based anywhere in NZ), free health insurance cover, better-than-your-average leave, access to Contact Shares, a ‘Good to be Home’ annual payment toward your home set up & wellbeing, a trail-blazing parental leave policy, discounts on Contact Energy products_, _and more.
