**The role**
As a Maintenance Team Leader, you’ll maintain Transpower’s substations assets with your brilliant Electrical Fitter’s Team. You’ll manage the workload, direct people, plant and equipment, materials and sub-contractors to achieve task objectives efficiently and effectively and your top priority should always be Safety. This role will report to the Delivery Manager - Maintenance and Planning. You’ll conduct routine checks on our toolboxes to ensure that our equipment is up to standards, functioning properly, and safe to operate.

- The key responsibilities for the Maintenance Team Leader position include, but are not limited to:
- Providing leadership and support to the team
- Complete WTC competency assessments
- Build effective relationships with your team members and support their professional and personal development
- Perform competent audits, quality checks and ensure that jobs are timely scoped and priced
- Explore alternative ideas to make cost savings and improvements
- Communicate the financials to the team as required
- Prepare regular reports on work achieved & forward work forecasting
- Proven experience in leading and inspiring a team of professionals

**What we’re looking for?**
Ideally, you’ll have good knowledge and experience on the Transpower Network or High Voltage Industry. A solid or experienced Electrical Installation background with New Zealand EWRB registration is essential. You’ll also need to have the ability to organise and plan own workload while delivering positive outcomes without compromising health and safety. Efficient, competent knowledge & understanding in supervision and regulatory responsibilities.

Following skills would be an added advantage:
- Transmission industry experience, dealing with Stakeholders and/or relevant network experience
- Relevant trade qualifications and current practising licence as required
- Knowledge of relevant Codes of Practice, Policies, Standards, Work Procedures, Legislative requirements and the relevant Parts of the Safe Manual - Electricity Industry (SE-MI)
- Electrical industry qualifications and New Zealand EWRD registration
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization both verbally and in writing
- Ability to build strong working relationships both internally and externally
- Great computer skills with proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Project
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in a multi-cultural environment
- A strategic thinker with the ability to solve problems and make decisions
- Ability to motivate and influence others while demonstrating integrity and trust
- Full clean drivers’ licence
