**Te Turanga | The role**

Join us as an Adviser within our Deposit Taking team, where youll help shape the way we regulate conduct in the banking and non-bank deposit-taking sectors. Youll bring energy and expertise to assessing risks and entity performance, and building constructive relationships with market participants.

Your mahi will include but not be limited to:

- Supporting the development and delivery of core elements of the Conduct of Financial Institutions (CoFI) Programme of work, including:- Participating in work to embed FMAs approach to licensing, supervision, monitoring and stakeholder engagement- Research and information assessment to feed into relevant risk assessments- Sector and interagency engagement - Supporting the team in developing a deeper understanding of banking and non-bank deposit taking in Aotearoa New Zealand, including further analysis of current and emerging risks in the sector

- Identifying harms and utilising appropriate regulatory tools to treat those harms and, where appropriate, refer to other internal teams to consider steps to enforce compliance with legislation

Youll also contribute to delivering on FMAs regulatory priorities which may involve reviewing entity responses to targeted reviews, providing feedback, and conducting on-site monitoring. Youll be naturally curious and confident, with the ability to ask direct questions and navigate challenging conversations with professionalism and tact. You will be someone who doesnt take things at face value and really digs deep to understand the how and the why.

Ideally, youll bring experience from the banking sector, particularly in risk, audit, or compliance functions. Youll understand how financial institutions operate and be comfortable assessing risk and influencing outcomes without formal authority.

**The appointing range for this role is $91,000$105,000 (total remuneration including 4% KiwiSaver). Final offers will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity.
