Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced; motivated and energetic Physiotherapist, experienced with working with children and their families, to join the Starship Community service as Practice Supervisor for our Physiotherapy team, which also encompasses our Neurodevelopmental Therapy service delivery. This role is a community-based, direct client contact role, which interacts with Starship Community Child Development Service and a broader multidisciplinary clinical leadership group. The role aligns with the Rautaki strategy of Starship Child Health to deliver the obligation to protect the whakapapa of children and their families, supporting in a mokopuna-centric, whānau focused and whānau-led approach. Service delivery is guided by the Enabling Good Lives (EGL) principles.
As the Practice Supervisor, you will provide direct clinical care and clinical leadership to the Physiotherapy/Neurodevelopmental therapy team working across child development within our community team. You will exercise a strong sense of team and leadership. You will support the development of our physiotherapists to support their personal and professional growth.

**The primary purpose of the role is to**:

- Provide whānau-centred, culturally sensitive, community-based, safe, effective and comprehensive assessment and outcome-focused innovative clinical care.
- Demonstrate proven clinical competence within the scope of practice recognised by their regulating authority and/or professional body.
- Deliver senior-level of clinical practice and leadership of physiotherapy practice within the service.
- Includes a management component of physiotherapy referral and caseload management.
- Work collaboratively with the Physiotherapy Professional Leader.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

**To succeed in this role, you will have**:

- A current New Zealand Physiotherapy Annual Practising Certificate
- A clean and full New Zealand driving license
- A minimum of 5 years post-graduate clinical physiotherapy experience, including a minimum of 2 years within paediatric practice.
- Demonstrated senior-level of clinical expertise and with translating evidence into practice
- Proven supervision, mentoring, coaching and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop others
- Experienced in providing adult teaching and knowledge of appropriate educating skills and able to facilitate team working
- Organisational, time management, clinical priority setting and delegation skills
- An understanding of clinical governance and evidence-based practice
- Computer literacy: Microsoft Word and Outlook
