**About the Role**:
The Head of Design is a key part of the delivery team, responsible for ensuring all sites are designed to specifications in line with our contractual obligations. This is fixed-term position for two years.

Reporting to the Head of SAED and Build and based in central Auckland (but with flexibility to work remotely), your primary responsibilities will include the following:

- Leadership and management of a multi skilled Radio frequency (RF), structural, power and transmission design team of professionals to design approximately 500 sites across the whole of New Zealand.
- Responsibility and Management of third-party companies to support and augment site design activities.
- Ownership of the site design of the sites within the Design criteria set out in the contract.
- Coordination with the other technical teams within Tait and other stakeholders.
- Support the Head of SAED, Acquisition and Build to meet build timelines.
- Co-ordination with third parties including NGCC, Police, colocation partners and other stakeholders.
- Issuing design work to third parties and overseeing quotation, and pricing in such a way to minimise cost without reducing quality.
- Responsibility and management of budget within delegated authority from Head of SAED
- Manage design teams to overcome blockers and identify innovative site solutions/design to ensure sites are able to be built in a timely fashion.
- Ad-hoc reporting on progress of all assigned projects.
- Whilst this is management position it is expected that it will include some travel to sites to understand work done

**About You**:
We are keen to hear from individuals with the following skills:

- Good understanding of Mobile/LMR networks.
- Good organisational skills to get things done.
- Knowledge and experience in design of Mobile/LMR sites
- Knowledge and experience of RF, power and transmission.
- 10+ years of Telecommunications or similar project management experience.
- Self-starter with the ability to self-manage.
- Demonstrate Management and leadership experience
- Great organizational and time-management skills.
- Adaptable and possess an ability to work with others and participate on cross-technology teams.
- Collaborative approach and willing to help out with other team members work when required.
