Head of New Service Design - Mana Taurite supports service activities by directing and developing programmes and procedures to enhance productivity and performance. Because this role balances community effectiveness specifically for Māori and capacity to sustainably provide service; deep understanding around service delivery and community effectiveness will be key to delivery
**About the role | Atu mo te mahi**
The Head of New Service Design - Mana Taurite will deliver effective and measurable improvement for Māori and Pacific Peoples to engage and have a positive experience while using Whakarongorau Aotearoa’s services, while working to the parameters of Appendix one.
**Key Tasks and Accountabilities**
- Support and lead the development of and implementation of a services for Māori and Pacifica
- Endorse and or lead on the development and submission of equity initiatives for community and service provision
- Lead, monitor and embed mana taurite plans and development initiatives
- Support and inform the targeting of resources, monitoring, implementation and evaluation of the tasks/projects by providing high quality support including analysis of complex information and communications
- Liaising and communicating with internal and external stakeholders to assist operational and strategic planning using influencing and negotiating skills to overcome barriers
- Effectively and openly exchanging information on work and the mana tautiri journey with colleagues to promote sustainable changes for Māori utilising our services
- Utilise qualitative and quantitative information to lead appropriate analysis and develop robust business cases that contribute to equity projects
- Analyse, interpret complex data from multiple channels to highlight issues, risks and support decision making for Maori
- Ensure robust audit programme linked to quality improvement programmes are developed and implemented
- Contribute to the promotion of links and collaboration between the varying teams and services where there are synergies in pathways

**Qualifications and Experience**
- A tertiary qualification in Psychology, Organisational Development or Health Science
- Ideally expertise in Te Whare Tapa Whā (Māori model of health)
- 3+ years’ experience in an influential senior role is preferred
- Ideally experienced in project management within the health sector, specifically stakeholder management and engagement
**Skills and Competence**- Proven ability to engage effectively with Māori and non-Māori and advise on equity focused approaches
- Knowledgeable of health inequalities and priority populations
- Exceptional strategic, communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage well with others and positively influence outcomes
- A strong understanding of Government and the Treaty of Waitangi
- Knowledgeable of health inequalities and priority populations
- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
