**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**

We are seeking a proactive and passionate leader to fill the Team Leader role in Te Whare O Matairangi. Te Whare O Matairangi is our acute adult mental health inpatient recovery unit, situated onsite at Wellington Regional Hospital and provides treatment and care for adults that require an inpatient stay. In this position you will lead a skilled multi-disciplinary team of approximately 90 full time equivalent staff including nurses, support workers, medical staff, allied health, cultural workers and administrators dedicated to providing the best possible outcomes for tangata whaiora and their whanau.

Te Whare O Matairangi is the adult mental health in-patient unit situated on the Wellington Regional Hospital campus. Te Whare O Matairangi is funded to provide 29 beds and is divided into two area: Te Taha Manaaki and Te Taha Tauria.

Te Taha Manaaki provides up to 12 acute beds for those patients who require 24 hour clinical assessment and treatment and who are able to be cared for in an more open environment.

Te Taha Tauira provides up to 18 acute beds for those patients who require the most intensive 24 hour clinical assessment and treatment and who require care in a more secure environment, Te Taha Tauira also has capacity to provide a higher level of intensive care in a self-contained de-escalation area, Whakatau Wairua.

The unit is staffed with 3 Psychiatrists, over 45 Nursing staff, and in addition there are Occupational Therapists, a Clinical Psychologist, Social Workers, Mental Health Support Workers and Administration staff.

Te Whare O Matairangi provides services for people experiencing an episode of acute mental illness that requires a safe environment with intensive nursing and medical treatment.
