The NZSIS is looking for an experienced Data Architect to join our data office and lead the practice of data architecture at the heart of New Zealand's national security.
As New Zealand's domestic security intelligence service, we understand the importance of investing in data and information management capabilities. NZSIS has a strategic objective to increase the role that digitisation and data play in our organisation. A key step in this journey was the establishment of a central data office to oversee the use of data in insight generation across our organisation.
As Data Architect, you will operate at multiple levels - creating the data patterns, designs, plans and standards for our strategic technology and business directions, as well as getting data in particular parts of our system into better shape. This opportunity is busy, interesting and challenging and will see you working with a wide range of colleagues from every corner of our diverse organisation. There are also opportunities to represent the Data Office in enterprise architecture planning, change projects and liaison relationships where data interoperability is an increasing area of focus.

**We are looking for someone who can bring**:

- A minimum of 10 years in a senior IT engineering role with three years in a relevant data management, data science, or data architect role.
- Experience in designing and implementing solutions with a value over $500,000 using ingenuity and initiative.
- Significant experience in ICT development and delivery.
- Highly developed conceptual thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster good stakeholder relationships and to influence staff at all organisational levels.
