**About this role**

We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated **Senior Track Engineer **to join our vibrant and enthusiastic Engineering team based in **Auckland**. The focus of the Senior Track Engineer is to provide Track Engineering solutions and consulting services for railway infrastructure projects and related areas in order to enhance the team’s portfolio of skills and expertise, support the rail team leader in running projects, and mentor junior team members.
**What will I do?**
- Provide track designs and technical advice throughout the engineering process from project inception to delivery, operation and maintenance;
- Undertake the role of Checker/reviewer for Track Engineering Projects;
- Take a longer-term strategic view of the business and contribute to the development plan of Arup;
- Lead conversations with key stakeholders in setting out the basis of our design solution, outlining the rationale for any design variations or departures from standards, and working collaboratively to overcome any problems; and
- Work in small and medium sized projects, as well as being a key member of larger project groups and providing support for junior staff.
**What will I bring?**
- Recognised engineering qualification and industry experience of railway track infrastructure throughout the engineering process;
- Highly competent in permanent way engineering and alignment design, and develop through a process of continual self-improvement, to support Arup and our clients with technical expertise in competencies such as: Track alignment design and 3D modelling in a rail design package such as Bentley Microstation, 12D and Power Rail Track;
- Experience in all or either; Planning, Detailing & Staging of Railway Infrastructure Development, Platform Design & Clearance Requirements, Track Design Principles & Trackform Specification, Track maintenance & Construction Practices, Civil and Earthworks Interface and/ or Rail Systems Interface;
- Fantastic interpersonal skills and effective report writing; and
- Invests time to build strong relationships with clients and business associates.
