Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We are seeking a Principal Advisor Communications and Engagement to support the National Screening Unit programmes of work across breast, cervical, bowel, antenatal and newborn screening.
You will be responsible for the development, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of communications and engagement approaches that support people to access screening services, and improve the overall experience and outcomes for individuals, whānau and communities.
**Some of your responsibilites will include**:
- building strong relationships with stakeholders and communities
- developing strategic communications and engagement approaches to improve participation rates and the overall experience for a range of cancer screening programmes
- development of bespoke communications and engagement approaches tailored to the needs of Māori, Pacific, disabled and rural communities
- managing the organisation's reputation and helping to meet our broader communications objectives

To thrive in our team, you will bring along your ability to build relationships and work collaboratively at all levels across a large multi-disciplinary organisation.
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**:
- A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action
- A minimum 5 years' experience operating at a senior level
- Strong relationship management
- Experience working with Māori, Pacific and disabled communities
Previous government experience or health sector or community experience would be beneficial for success in this role.
This role requires and/or would benefit from the following
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a willingness to learn and grow
