Tissue Viability (Wound) Service

We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse with specialist knowledge of pressure injury prevention and management to join our Tissue Viability (Wound) Service at MidCentral.

In this role, the Specialty Clinical Nurse - Pressure Injury Prevention and Management will be responsible for the provision of specialist nursing expertise and leadership across the region.

The SCN - Pressure Injury Prevention and Management will be responsible for the provision of specialist nursing expertise and leadership across MidCentral. While there will be a specific focus on reducing the incidence and severity of hospital-acquired pressure injuries, a system wide approach will be adopted to ensure that all care settings where PIs could occur are supported to adopt best practice in both prevention and management. This includes home care, Aged Residential Care, community health services and disability, in recognition of the substantial burden of pressure injuries that occur, and are managed outside of the hospital.
- Registered Nurse with current Annual Practising Certificate
- Three years post registration experience
- Advanced skills and current knowledge in wound care
- Professional portfolio at level 3 (or working toward)
- Ability to work in a small team and wider multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to work autonomously
- Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude
- Ability to be flexible and prioritise
- Current NZ Driver Licence

Desirable requirements:

- Experience in the hospital and community
- Post graduate education focusing on wound care or related topics

The position is 0.8 FTE permanent, Monday to Friday.
