This role will lead a multidiscipline team of engineers to manage and review the engineering of geothermal power plant, currently procured under an EPC contract. The role has a strong emphasis of working with the EPC contractors to collaboratively deliver the engineering of power plant while protecting Contact’s interests both contractually and in achieving reliable, efficient, economic, and safely operating power plant.

This role will report to the Head of Major Projects Engineering and will also have the opportunity to collaborate with key stakeholders across the wider business.

Some of your day to day will include:

- Lead the technical team including discipline leads responsible for the delivery of Contact’s power plants under executed contracts
- Lead the process of engineering decision making, including necessary consultation with internal stakeholders, and to ensure the power plant delivers the optimum lifecycle outcome for Contact
- Assist with the development of technical specifications for follow on projects based on the experienced of delivering current projects
- Prioritise and monitor the work being undertaken by the team, guiding and coaching the team members as appropriate to develop a high functioning team
- Ensure that the Contact Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management system is known, understood and applied on the site and that the culture on the site is one of continuous improvement in safety
- Liaise with senior project team members to explain key project technical decisions, risks and mitigation strategies
- Ensure that the power plant engineering is managed in accordance with the Project Delivery Process.

You will value the contribution of individuals and strive to create an environment of inclusion, respect, curiosity and focus to ensure that our projects exceed our business case requirements whilst enhancing relationships through the process.

You’ll be equally skilled in conflict resolution as you are project decision making trade-offs to ensure that you make the correct decisions whilst achieving buy-in to the project. You’ll have a positive can do attitude with the ability to motivate others and keep things moving, with high energy when the times get tough. A clear communicator, you’re able to convey complex information simply, lead others through complex problem solving.
