Our Environmental Services intern will be involved in everything from assisting ecologists in the field to investigating historic plant records. This opportunity will focus on assisting with Auckland’s next Regional Pest Management Plan and will include a variety of tasks such as data collection, attending hui, and report writing.

You’ll spend the summer developing your technical and soft skills, and experiencing what life is like at Auckland Council. By the end of the internship, you’ll hopefully have a good idea of where you want your career to go. Interns may receive priority consideration for our 2-year Graduate Programme, setting the stage for your future career.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**
You are passionate about biosecurity and the management of invasive species, and eager to gain experience in this important field. You’re a proactive learner, excited to use your excellent time management to contribute to the fast-paced development of Auckland’s next Regional Pest Management Plan. With a sharp eye for detail, precise written communication skills and strong computer literacy, you bring reliability and enthusiasm to the team. Your commitment to conservation and protecting Auckland’s natural environment makes you a great fit for this role.
- Be in your penultimate year studying towards a relevant Bachelor's degree, or continuing into a Master’s level of study in 2025.
- Be eligible to work in New Zealand full-time from November 2024- February 2025

- Or equivalent related degree
