The role of Contract Manager is accountable for ensuring all contract management obligations are met, exceeding client expectations. This includes people leadership, communication, safety, planning, quality, and engineering. The role requires proactive management towards resources to maximize the financial returns and effectively manage communications and SLAs to maintain the relationships with clients.

**Some key deliverables include**:

- Establishing, maintaining, and growing effective stakeholder relationships relevant to the contract.
- Optimally utilising company resources by planning and managing machinery, materials and staff to improve the quality and efficiency of contracts.
- Strong financial management of the contract, to achieve budget as well as maximising revenue.
- Provide skilled technical and leadership advice to project team members as required and working collaboratively with the wider NZ Operations Team to ensure maximum productivity of our resources.
- Ensure communication is effectively designed and fit for purpose for all scenarios within contract requirements, as well as ensuring all issues are actioned and responded to accordingly.
- Identify areas of continuous improvement and operational excellence (e.g. technology/innovation to improve processes) and embed in the contract, as well as providing feedback to the Regional Manager to assist with developing and embedding new processes across the business.

**About you**:

- Maintenance Contract Management experience desirable, but not essential
- Degree or Diploma qualified in Civil Engineering, QS, NZDE or similar type construction qualifications.
- Communication skills at both senior business level, along with relatable hands on/boots on the ground connectivity
- Business and Commercial Acumen in Construction and/or contracting. Estimating or tendering desirable.
- Desirable, client-side experience.
- Relationship management experience and capability
- People management experience. Larger teams of 50+
- Technical competence in pavement, surfacing, drainage, facilities, TTM, General Civil Construction works.
- And all the usual - self-directed, time management, driven etc
- You will have experience in site administration and handling of commercial terms for consultants and subcontractors for work projects as well as proven experience in site budget management in a multi-disciplined business.

**Other qualifications/skills**
- Roading or Construction experience preferred.
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) NZCE qualifications or equivalent.
- Class 1 NZ Drivers Licence.
- MS Excel/Word Intermediate Skills
- Basic skills in SAP
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills
